Meeting writing professionals with Nef Animation

On 3rd and 4th October 2019, intermedia animation foundation students will visit Fontevraud Royal Abbey to attend the "Les Chemins de la création" (Paths of Creation) event, a professional meeting dedicated to writing for animated film.

A major animation event

"Les Chemins de la création" is an event that was created in 2012 with the aim of fostering exchanges between people in all roles in the animation industry.

Animation students, teachers, authors, directors, producers and broadcasters meet every year at Fontevraud Royal Abbey to share their thoughts and their vision of writing for animated films.

The meeting is organised in conjunction with NEF Animation (Nouvelles Ecritures pour le Film d'Animation), the first French-speaking professional platform dedicated to writing for animated films. And once again this year, Atelier de Sèvres is a partner of the event.

Showcasing the diversity of animation

This year, the event focuses on animated cinema in all its forms. For this eighth edition, "cartoon" writing will be in the spotlight. Interviews, round tables and case studies will cover both short and feature-length animated films, animated television series and documentaries, and installations and mapping.

Each day of the event will be punctuated with five interviews with international animators (Regina Pessoa, Patrick and Michèle Bokanowski, Jonathan Hodgson, Anja Kofmel, Nina Paley) around formal and narrative research, creative work methods and pathways on short and feature-length film projects, animated documentaries and experimental film.

This event will be an opportunity for animation foundation students to meet animated film professionals and to immerse themselves in contemporary creation thanks to the presence of the resident artists at the Abbey.
