Paths of Excellence for Alumni of the Animation Prep Program
Brilliant careers of Animation Prep alumni make the news this July 2025. Two recent successes demonstrate the richness of the paths taken by graduates of the school, combining creative sensitivity, international recognition, and involvement in major projects in the sector.
Marta Reis Andrade receives international award for Dog Alone
Trained in animation at the Atelier de Sèvres in 2014–2015, Marta Reis Andrade has since pursued a unique path at the crossroads of animation, visual poetry, and intimacy. A graduate of the Royal College of Art in London, she has developed a touching universe, nourished by her observations of the ordinary and the forgotten.
His latest film, Dog Alone, won in July 2025 the top prize in the 'International Competition' category at the Anibar Animation Festival, an independent European festival particularly committed to young creators.
A story that is both tender and profound, exploring solitude, abandonment, and the need for connection through a parable between a forgotten dog and human experiences. Dog Alone is described as 'a touching story that explores solitude, abandonment, and the need for human connection, drawing a moving parallel between a forgotten dog and the director’s personal experiences. A film that soothes the soul, even as it tugs at the heart.

Three former students are part of the team behind the animated film Amélie and the Metaphysics of Tubes.Audience Award at the Annecy Festival 2025, currently in theaters
Another piece of good news from our alumni: the film Amélie et la métaphysique des tubes, currently showing in theaters, draws on the talent of three former Animation Prep students who continued their studies at Gobelins, two of whom have contributed to the Bachelor programs at Atelier de Sèvres:
- Justine Thibault (Prep 2013/2014) – Color Background Direction
- Marietta Ren (Prep 2003/2004) – Character Design
- Camille Letouzé (Prep 2015/2016) – Prop Design
A close knit and talented female artistic team brings to the screen the delicate world of this poetic feature film inspired by Amélie Nothomb's novel.
These news items attest to the quality and uniqueness of the courses offered at the Atelier de Sèvres. Creativity, sensitivity, commitment: these are all strengths that students cultivate from the preparatory stage onwards, and which stay with them for a long time.
Well done to them—and we can't wait to see what happens next!
